The HomeStretch! Third Trimester!

Hellllooo world...or faithful few..hehe,

I'm delayed once again, but I just want to say, GOD IS GOOD! I lost my brand new phone, (I have literally had it for two weeks) and I found it @ Office Max. Lord thank you for still having noble people in this world. I am so grateful!

Ok moving on, so now that I am back in action, I can post some pics from last week..and well this week really since I am well overdue. ...Im just going to throw up my pics...Enjoy the mini highlight reel!

Oh I do want to tell you what my little baby boy is up to at 28 weeks :-)

28 Weeks:*courtesy of whattoexpect.com

Are you dreaming about your baby? At 28 weeks pregnant, your baby may be dreaming about you, too. Brain wave activity measured in a developing fetus shows different sleep cycles, including the rapid eye movement phase, the stage when dreaming occurs.

By now, your baby, who weighs in at about two and a half pounds and stands — or rather lies — at almost 16 inches (measured head to toe) has added blinking to his or her growing bag of tricks. (Outside in the real world, blinking is necessary to help keep foreign objects out of the eyes.) Other impressive new talents being added to your baby's roster in the womb include coughing, more intense sucking, and, perhaps most important, better breathing. Of course, it's still best if a baby doesn't check out of that uterine hotel just yet — there's still a lot of growing and maturing to do over the next 12 weeks.

Highlight Reel
1. Spring Is Here!
Last week started out a bit down in the pits...(funny enough almost ended that way too, but was redeemed by my hubby...more on that later)..In any case, to chipper my spirits, I realized I needed to get out the house...so I decided to take a nice little journal, my ipod and a fav book to the poolside and just chill...it was ah-maz-ing! I watched as the clouds just rolled by, closed my eyes and listened to the wind go by...It almost felt like the Lord was whispering in my ear to just rest in Him...what a momemt...what a beautiful day...

2.  Child Birth Class
Aaron and I attended our final childbirth class...and I must say it was beyond entertaining! Our instructor is just amazing at what she does!
Funny quotes of the day:
Her favorite word is "waheena"...which is her reference to the female private area...lol...
"Kegel ladies, Don't forget to Kegel...we want tight waheena's for daddy!"
And my hubby's fav:
"And..another reason for a C-Section is known as Cephalopelvic Disproportion (CPD): when a baby's head is too large to pass through the pelvic region...or as I like to call it (HTB): Head-Too-Big."

And just before we left, I was asked to volunteer for the massage...Yes ma'm thank you..I'll take 30 more minutes of this lesson! Lol...Aaron came up and gave it a try...its harder than it looks, but he did great!...A little more practice won't hurt tho...hehe...free massages for me!

3. Another Pick-Me-Upper
Omg...my new craving...at a pricey $8 bucks a pop, (yes that is pricey when its something I want everyday)...lol..Panera Bread's Thai Chopped Chicken Salad with a cup of Broccoli and Cheese soup. Can we say mmmmmmmmmmm!! I know my baby is loving it as much as I am...healthy deliciousness..so hard to come by! Go take your next 8 bucks and head to Panera...please!

4. Another Delicious Dinner Made by my One & Only
So Sunday I was just down in the poops of all poops. (Hormonally you might say I had lost my darn mind.) It all started Saturday evening at good ol' faithful Babies"R"Us. Aaron and I finally decided to buckle our boot straps and get our registry done. But only 5 minutes after walking in, gun in hand, ready to point and shoot (nooo, not Aaron, the baby goodies...hehe) I was over it. I mean literally, I was just too overwhelmed. All I kept thinking was, "HOW DID I GET HERE?!"..." Omg, do we NEED all this stuff??" ..." Really when does a baby start teething anyway, cant we get these chew toys at the dollar store?"..." Really..why is there a spa setting on this baby tub?"..." How many diapers come in that box?"..."and HOW many boxes are you telling me I am going to need Ma'm?"..."How are we going to afford this?"..."Why didn't we put Tour a Baby Store on our pre-marriage counseling checklist, because I am pretty sure I didn't know what I was signing up for!"...then the final..look of rage over at my smiling husband..YOU DID THIS TO MEEEEE!....

Ok ok, you may think I am psychotic - but I am allowed. I am pregnant. And with much comfort and confirmation from other Mommy's I know I am not alone..(whew!)

So anyway, this debbie downer attitude, progressed into the next morning. I was not having it..I didn't want to leave my bed for church or anything else...and so my husband...disappointed I am sure..doesnt get upset with me..nope..he makes me breakfast in bed, kisses me on the forehead, and heads out to church without me. Then comes home WITH FLOWERS, and WHIPS UP A GOURMET MEAL??? (Ummm Jesus...is that you??) It HAS to be...because...it is humanly impossible to love me as I am right now...Anyway...I am so grateful for what I have in my husband...I am not bragging (maybe a little) but more so...I just want you all reading to know...that husbands like him, indeed DO exist...Here's the proof ;-)
P.S The verse is true: Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8)

Handsome Isn't He? :-)

Steak, steamed brocolli, garlic mashed potatoes, shrimp skewers, corn!!!

5. WE FINISHED THE LETTER WALL!

Minus the letter "I"...As simple as that letters is, I just couldn't find one I liked.
Anyway here it is, what do you think??? :-)

6. Preggy Pic This Week
Of Course I had to include this, I'm in my 3rd Trim. for crying out loud! (Yeyaaa!)

Tis All My Friends,
See ya when I see ya...cant make any promises of when..but we shall meet again soon!

One Week Closer :-)

Hello again friends and followers,
You know let me just take a moment to say thank you sooo much to all of you that have been reading my blog. It means so much to me that even in my own little world (without much going on but being pregnant hehe) I have people around that care about me and take the time to tell me. Ahh you all make my day...thank you 100x! :-)
Ok on to this weeks agenda! What a exciting yet exhausting week for my hubby and I! It was Spring Break week for him, so we pretty much spent the entire week in shorts and an old tee, sanding and painting things for the nursery....but more on that in a moment! Here is what we shall discuss:
The Agenda:
1. Head Over Heels - Wearing Heels During Pregnancy
2. High's and Lows

3. The Nursery Project
4. Preggy Pics: Featuring Friends!

HEAD OVER HEELS: Wearing Heels During Pregnancy
*courtesy of maternityandstyle.com
There is still so much we don't know about how the body changes during pregnancy, which is why the debate over the safety of high heels during pregnancy continues. Many women enjoy wearing their heels while pregnant, and according to medical professionals, that's okay as long as you're aware of the risk. Falling down is the greatest risk to wearing high heels during pregnancy. Your center of gravity is shifted due to your changing shape, and adjusting it even more by wearing heels can leave you feeling off-balance. Mariah Carey experienced this phenomenon early in her pregnancy when she fell down on stage in late 2010 while wearing heels. On the other hand, whether or not you should wear heels is also about comfort. During pregnancy, stilettos tend to put more stress on the lower back than they normally would. Plus, most women experience edema during pregnancy, causing their feet to swell and become more sensitive. If you aren’t experiencing any of these problems, then there is no medical reason not to wear heels.
Are you continuing to wear heels through your pregnancy?
My answer: Yes! Well for now at least. They say everything in moderation right? I mean, I'm def not the girl to rock 6 inch stilletos to the grocery store (are you in-SANE!) but if I am going out on the town (who am I kidding?...) if i am going to church lol...I will put on a 3 or 4 incher...Yet perhaps my confidence in doing this (while being 28 weeks pregnant) can't be attributed to myself, but the support of my hubby, who I am constantly locking arms with to prevent a fall...Now if my feet begin to swell, or my belly grows entirely to big to be comfortable for me and the baby over these last few months..well then...hello flats!

Until then,  I guess heels make me feel like even though I am pregnant, I am still beautiful, I am still girly, and classy...should I really have to compromise those things? Just my take.

Highs and Lows

The Highs
1. Jeans in Juniors - So I went to Macy's last weekend and I found myself mozing over to the juniors section, call it nastalgia, wishful thinking perhaps...So as I surf the racks looking for stretchy jeans, over-sized tees, and maxi dresses, the sales lady comes over and jokingly remarks "well now, this is different... shouldn't you be over in maternity?" I laughed - though slightly offended - and told her that I am not defined by my belly! I can shop in any department - and if the shoe fits - I am wearing it! Needless to say, 30 minutes and 13 bucks later, I left the mall with my skinny Levi's jeans in hand! Pic Above! (Mmmhmm...take THAT Sales lady! :-p)

2. Israel New Breed Concert
My hubby and I went to the ah-maz-ing Israel concert on Thursday! I can't not say enough about our experience. It was truly God breathed. So much MORE than a "concert." It was a true harmonious worship session to Jesus! It was just awesome to look all around me and see, from the people on stage to the 13 year old girl to my left, we all lifted our hands and just worshiped the Lord. He truly used Israel and his musical gifting to touch the very core of my being. I thought for a moment as he sung  "He Knows My Name", and "Moving Forward"...I reminisce on the melody, the lyrics...It so easy to have spiritual amnesia as a Christian. To forget who I am, who I belong to. To forget how the Lord has completely transformed my life. Forget the moment that I decided to never turn back to the ways of this world again...its moments like this...that bring them back to life. Jesus, I live to worship you.

3. Child Birth Class
Informative, Enlightening, Fun - Loved it! Aaron and I went to the 5 hour class, pillow in hand, ready to soak up all the knowledge we could! And boy did we...so many of our concerns we answered! How to breath through contractions, vaginal tears, how painful is it??, breastfeeding, c-section worries - you name it - our nurse answered it! ( I love this woman and her amazing sense of humor) Referring to babies as "little critters," and warning us that "newborns can often resemble aliens at first" lol. We even saw a video (real and raw) of a live birth! It was intense! Yet..enlightening :-) Can't wait for our follow up class next Saturday!

The Lows
1. SPRING BREAK IS OVERRR!!! :-( Why did it have to go by so fast? Not ready for my hubs to go back to school yet :-( Sigh...

The NURSERY PROJECT!
Aaron and I have been working all week trying to put a cute little room together for baby Woods. So far so good. We aren't done, but I am excited for our progress. Many of our items, including the armoire and changing table were purchased off of CL, then Aaron sanded and painted them and we even changed out the knobs! Which I adore :-) Meanwhile, I was working on decorating letters! I can not describe to you all how tasking it was to make 26 letters look completely different while only using 4 different colors (red, blue, green, and yellow) Mixing shades, mixing patterns, etc etc...whew! Welp here are the results of this weeks work. Next we will be getting our crib and other things put in. Fun times ahead! Stay tuned!

Poor Babes...good thing we got you that palm sander!

So much more to go! lol

The beautiful knobs we found at Hobby Lobby! LOVE!

Sanded, Painted, Top Piece Made from Scratch!!! Nice Work Honey!

A close up! Dont you love the knobs!

My little project - these letters! I wish you could have seen the paint covering my arms and legs! Ugh!

All Done! Now I just have to hang them! U like??

Edit: So I can't take FULL credit for the ABC Wall Idea - Here is where I stole it from lol...(pretty similar no?)

Sorry for the Delay!

EDITORS NOTE: The post below is an accumulation of the last few days! I apologize in advance for the different tenses! Lol.

Friday: So I woke up in the middle of the night and realized (OMG!) its Thursday!...I forgot to write my blog today! Oopsies. Sorry peeps. Must be a bit of that pregnancy forgetfulness (yes, it IS an actual symptom)
Alright here we go:
Honestly, this wont be long because I can't even think straight. My husband and I are sitting here watching the news and the Earthquake/Tsunami that has hit Japan. My friends, if you could, please take a moment and pray for our people on the other side of the world. This is insane. Its time that we wake up peeps! Lets all join forces and cover this nation (Japan) in prayer.

The Agenda
1. Facts about Baby
2. High's and Lows
3. Nursery Inspiration Pics

FACTS ABOUT BABY
*courtesy of babycenter.com
1. The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

HIGH's and LOW's

The Highs
1. Praise God! My test results from my Gestational Diabetes exam came back negative! Lord I am so greatful! I literally got the call, then got on my knees and bald like a baby- just thanking Him! Honestly in hindsight I think it was just a test to see if I was going to worry, or If i was going to trust God to see me through. And He proved himself faithful once again! Thank you Lord :-)

2. Spring Break is coming up and I am so excited to get some much needed one on one time with my husband! ( You would think because we are married now we get a lot of this - but we dont!) School is hectic! So I look very forward to his breaks. This upcoming Spring Break week we plan on painting, prepping the nursery room, doing our registry, taxes, going to our first childbirth class, seeing Israel and the New Breed in concert (can't wait for that yey!). Anyway the we have a pretty packed schedule, but the point is, its great because we will be doing it all together :-) Ah, the little things in life that make my heart smile.

3. So today, since it is Saturday and my blog is a bit late, my awesome friend Erika Jones asked me to be a guest on her radio show. It was called "Women Profiting Form Their Passions."  Basically, I have a growing passion (one of MANY) and am currently in the works of developing a side business as a Creative Consultant. My dream is to start with weddings, them move on to other events. My goal and vision is to help brides to create the image, inspiration, and vision for the their Big Day! "Ok I said YES, now what? So I am engaged, where the heck do I start! Ahh, it can be so overwhelming, to figure this out...and that is where I come in :-) Check out the interview below:

Breast Milk Ice Cream Anyone??

Hello?
Are you still there? ...Good!
Hi my loves! I can't believe its Thursday ALREADY! The week went by so fast, I don't even know what to write this time...

Welp...here goes nothing!

This weeks agenda:

  • Fun Read
  • Hi's & Lows
  • Preggy Pics

FUN READ: Breast Milk Ice Cream! YUCK or YUM??
*courtesy of BBC News

A restaurant in London is now serving a new range of ice cream, made with breast milk.
The dessert, called Baby Gaga, is churned with donations from London mother Victoria Hiley. Mrs Hiley, 35, said "If adults realized how tasty breast milk was, more new mothers would be encouraged to breastfeed." The lemony, vanilla concoction is served in a martini glass with a rusk (toast) on the side. Each serving of Baby Gaga at Icecreamists costs £14 (roughly $22).

Icecreamists founder Matt O'Connor placed an [advertisement on his site] appealing for breast milk donations and believes his new recipe will be a success. "If it's good enough for our children, it's good enough for the rest of us," he said. "Some people will hear about it and go yuck - but actually it's pure organic, free-range and totally natural." He added that the ice cream was not certified organic. Mrs Hiley, who gets £15 ($24) for every 10 ounces of milk she donates to the company, said it was a great "recession beater". "What's the harm in using my assets for a bit of extra cash?" she added. "I teach women how to get started on breastfeeding their babies. There's very little support for women and every little helps." Mr O'Connor said 14 other women had come forward to offer their services. Health checks for the lactating women were the same used by hospitals to screen blood donors. "No-one's done anything interesting with ice cream in the last hundred years," he added.

Blog Writer Besty Shaw from babycenter.com comments:
"While I agree it’s out of the ordinary, and not instantly appealing, I do find it interesting that we are so quick to ingest the milk of other animals, namely cows, yet turn up our noses at human milk. I will come clean and admit that...I balked at ever even tasting my own breast milk. Is this a natural instinct, or have we been socialized into thinking human breast milk is inherently gross and off limits if you’re not a baby"..."Cows don’t ordinarily eat cheese or ice cream, but would they if they were offered it?"

Sooo friends, what are your thoughts??? Is the idea of breast milk ice cream utterly repulsive, or if presented the opportunity would you give it a try? Comment below!

HIGH's & LOW's

The High's

1. My hubby completely knocked my socks of this week by making this amazing meal while I just sat back on the couch and watched. He didn't let me move a muscle. (And I loved every minute of it.) Ahh thank Jesus for selfless and serving husbands. We had grilled chicken kaboobs, brown rice, and a rosemary potatoe and green bean medley. More points for the healthy arrangement! It was sooo yum! Thanks babes! You know I had to brag about you ;-) (So you'll do it again next week! Ha! - wishful thinking)

2. The Baby Shower planning is underway!  We decided to have it here at our clubhouse in Texas on April 16th. My sisters along with the help of some of my Austin friends are working on the details as we speak! And now all I have to do is get this registry done! (I keep putting it off! lol) But the time is drawing near. :-) So excited!

The Low's
Well I had a doctors appointment last week, and I was called  back this week to do further diagnostic testing for Gestational Diabetes. The test was today. Pretty intense. Its a 3 hour appointment. You have to fast 10-12 hrs before the appointment (it should be a crime to make a pregnant lady skip meals!), then I drank this syrupy drink (100 grams of pure sugar solution), and they had to draw my blood once every three hours. I couldn't eat, drink anything but water, or fall asleep. So it was just me, a good book, and my handy dandy laptop this morning. Praise God, I made it through, 3 hrs and 5 shots later. I never did like needles, but I am a big girl now right? I am praying the results will come back negative. My heart truly goes out to my family and those of you who do struggle with diabetes.

PREGGY PICS
Here is a shot taken today :-) (Please excuse the sleepy face)
I think my tummy looks the same size these days...

Until Next Thursday,
Love you mucho....Kisses from Baby Woods!
